Samples of GameLife "Gamification"
applied to the Bible:
Play any game with boundaries, then stop and remove the boundaries - "anything goes; you can go anywhere you want." Rather than being fun, the game quickly breaks down into chaos, and the children ask for the boundaries back! When asked why? The children will state it's more fun, it keeps us safe, and we accomplish the purpose of the game – the exact reason why God gives us His rules and Commandments: life is more fun, they keep us safe, and we accomplish God's purpose.
Why lecture about the "repentance" when the children's game "Red Light, Green Light" can teach repentance in a fun & memorable way! "What do you do when you run through the 'red light' you 'Stop,' 'turn around,' and 'start over the right way.' "
Can a child really understand Matthew 28:18-20? Yes! Let's play "Net-Tag" boys & girls remember that the game is not over until everyone is caught in the net - a reminder that we keep telling people about Jesus/the Gospel and don't stop until everyone is in the "net."
Still Not Sure?
